Introducing BELegitimus

Brewery Legitimus will debut BELegitimus, a Belgian IPA, on Thursday, January 5th. An experimental beer, we start with our Legitimus IPA and ferment it with a Saison yeast.  The result is a beer with spicy and peppery notes that enhances the citrus flavors imparted by the hops. Dry and refreshing, it offers a unique IPA experience.  Join us in the taproom for a pint or two.

Brewery Legitimus Hours for the Week of Thanksgiving

At Brewery Legitimus we are thankful for all the awesome people that have supported us along the way. We wanted to let you know we will have some funky hours this week:

Tuesday - We will be open for our first Brews and Balasanas yoga event with Lam Yoga. Participants will enjoy a Vinyasa Flow Yoga class with the talented Jen Dankosky. After class Chris Sayer will guide participants through a tasting of Brewery Legitimus beers. Sign-up on the Lam Yoga site is required and the cost is $15 / participant.

Wednesday - We'll be open 3pm - 9pm. This is a great opportunity to get growlers or squealers filled for Thanksgiving! Or enjoy a pint or two to unwind before the holidays move into full swing.

Thursday - We are closed to spend time with the fam! Enjoy your Thanksgiving!

Friday - We'll be open 2pm - 9pm. Skip the Black Friday lines and give the gift of craft (not crap)! We have Brewery Legitimus gift cards, a great gift for any craft beer lover. New t-shirts, hoodies and (hopefully if the delivery is on time) stoneware growlers will be in stock as well.

Saturday - We're open regular 12pm - 9pm hours. Remember it is Small Business Saturday (although we think everyday should be small business day). Shopping small ensures your money stays in YOUR community!

Sunday - We'll be open 12pm - 5pm as usual!

Grand Opening - November 5th!!!

Join us for a Grand Opening Celebration on November 5th from 12pm through 9pm. We will have 6 of our own beers on tap (check out our On Tap page for more details). We will also have several local guest beers on tap rotating through out the day. All pints will be $5 especially for our grand opening day (please note we will not be serving flights on this day so that we can serve everyone as quickly as possible). Christie's Catering Farm to Truck will be on site with the most amazing, fresh and delicious food. Blind Smudge will be performing from 6pm through 9pm. We hope to see you there!

Brewery Legitimus Launches Kickstarter Campaign

Brewery Legitimus is on the verge of opening and the finish line is in sight. The amount of interest and support we have received thus far from craft beer enthusiasts, locals and small businesses has been overwhelming. In an effort to connect with craft beer enthusiasts and localvores and to fund some last minute and unexpected costs we have launched a Kickstarter campaign.  We want to give people who have an interest in seeing Brewery Legitimus succeed an opportunity to be a part of it all.

 

Getting Closer

Every day progress is made at the brewery space. Framing and dry wall for the production area, bathrooms and staff area is up. Painting has begun, floors are being prepared for painting and bathrooms are being finished. We are eagerly awaiting our 7 barrel brew house. It ships Friday, May 27th and should make its way to our doors in about a week. While we wait there is plenty of work to keep us (and our much appreciated helpers) busy.

As we get closer to our opening we will keep you updated on social media outlets so click the Facebook, Instagram or Twitter icons to see our daily progress.

Building out...

We have been spending the winter getting everything ready for the brewery buildout. We now know more than we have ever wanted to know about commercial building codes and zoning requirements. All super important stuff, and necessary for getting us in the space and ready to brew excellent beer. The brewhouse and tanks are on theirway to us as well. We have been dreaming of stainless steel for months now. We can not wait to see it in the space!

In the meantime we have been spending nights and weekends building beautiful farmhouse tables and piloting recipes. Imagine you and your closest friends huddled around these handcrafted tables with pints or flights of Legitimus beer. Add some yummy nosh from home or takeout from one of your favorite local restaurants and a board game and you've got the perfect evening out!

An update on timing for the opening. Based on our buildout schedule and required federal and state regulatory approvals we're aiming for a June opening. Warm weather and cold beer. It will be here before you know it.

 

Brewery Legitimus Opening Early 2016

We have some very exciting news to share tonight. Brewery Legitimus is now legit!! The Brewery has officially been funded!!

We will be spending the winter building out the brewery in beautiful New Hartford, CT and hope to open the doors in early 2016. Tonight we are celebrating with some great beer. This is not a restful evening however as we'll both have trouble sleeping tonight so we're going to spend some time refining our brewery project plan!

We want to thank all of our friends, family and brewery fans for supporting us through this journey. More exciting news to come as we make progress.
